Title: A Marauder's Night Before Christmas

Summary: A Marauder's twist on the Clement Moore classic.

Twas the night before Christmas, if you'd believe that,
And not an animagus was stirring, not even the rat.
The fireplace was tended by the house elves with care,
And a young James Potter was asleep in his chair.

Peter was sleeping in his bed, snug and warm,
As Sirius and Remus quietly snuck in the dorm.
"Be quiet, you'll wake him," Remus said with a hiss,
But Sirius just grinned and silenced him with a kiss.

He tasted of chocolate, tea and cinnamon bread,
His school tie hit the floor as he hit the bed.
Remus caught his breath as he looked up above,
Sirius smiled and jokingly asked "What now, love?"

Remus could see the mischief and lust in his eyes,
One hand in his hair, the other traced up his thighs.
"Sirius, the others..." Remus started to say,
But he just laughed, "Moony, they all know we're gay."

So two started snogging and they made a slight noise,
Peter thought not of it, for the room was all boys.
"Can I stay?" Sirius begged, puppy-dog eyes all aglow,
And with such a pathetic look, Remus couldn't just say "no."

A protest, "They'll see us! They'll hear us! Damnit Sirius, just listen!"
"I'll say please! Remus please!" His pitiful eyes started to glisten.
A moment ticked past. A moment more and Remus would cave,
"All right, you win! But you'd better behave!"

So they closed up the curtains and settled down for the night,
Sirius's arms around Remus, holding him tight.
"Happy Christmas, Sirius," Remus whispered in his ear,
He just smiled and muttered, "Same to you, ya bloody queer."

Down by the fire, James awoke with a start,
"It it Evans?" He wondered. "Oh be still my heart!"
He quietly muttered one quick little spell,
Then pretended to sleep in hopes all went well.

Lily rushed down the stairs at a fairly quick pace,
Her dream fresh in her mind, a blush still on her face.
And now she just couldn't sleep, though surely she tried,
With visions in her head of her as James Potter's bride.

How dare he! That Potter! Invade one of her dreams!
She'd never fall prey to one of his schemes.
But lo and behold, whose form did she spy?
Why it was Potter, sound asleep, with a blanket nearby.

She hesitated a second, her frustrations forgotten,
"I guess he's not so bad now. No longer so rotten."
And she thought of how he'd changed since becoming Head Boy,
How even his company she'd begun to enjoy.

So she pondered and considered. And a decision she made.
Little did she know, into James's hands she played.
Lily picked up the blanket, laid it over him just so,
Not aware that above her was charmed mistletoe.

James "awoke" right on cue, "Hey Evans, what's this?"
And before she could answer, he leaned up for a kiss.
"Mistletoe," he explained pointing to the sprig up above,
And Lily wasn't angry, no it was closer to love.

She blushed and said, "Happy Christmas," quietly.
James cleared his throat, "Um, care to join me?" he asked hopefully.
Lily hesitated, but finally sat down, much to James's delight.
And it was a Happy Christmas for all, and for all a good-night.
